Claudia Kim Breaks Silence on Playing Nagini in Fantastic Beasts

Actress Claudia Kim finally breaks the silence about playing Nagini in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

As the final trailer for The Crimes of Grindelwald just revealed, a big name from the Harry Potter books is a major part of the new Fantastic Beasts film. And yes, you’ve read correctly: the name you’re so familiar with is Nagini.

Until now, Warner Bros. hasn’t disclosed the name of the character played by South Korean actress Claudia Kim in the movie. Kim is none other than Nagini, a circus performer with a unique power who years later becomes Lord Voldemort’s trusty killer serpent and Horcrux. Check out the video above where Kim, after keeping this secret for more than a year, is finally allowed to publicly speak her character’s name for the first time.

In the new film, Nagini is a member of the traveling Circus Arcanus where she puts on a very convincing transformation act for muggles.

Kim says Nagini is far from the villain one might expect from a character who, after all, eventually kills Severus Snape. “It will be so interesting to see another side of Nagini,” Kim tells EW. “You’ve only seen her as a Horcrux. In this, she’s a wonderful and vulnerable woman who wants to live. She wants to stay a human being and I think that’s a wonderful contrast to the character.”

J.K. Rowling Confirms Hermione-Pronunciation Theory

Author J.K. Rowling confirmed the theory about Hermione pronouncing her name in the fourth book to prevent her readers from continuing to mispronounce it.

“It’s LeviOsa, not LeviosAR!” – Hermione Granger’s character is well known for correcting a pronunciation or two, such as one of her most iconic moments where she schooled Ron Weasley on the levitation spell. It was not only characters in the books that mispronounced spells or even names, but also fans and readers of the book series. Many readers were saying Hermione all sorts of ways before the fourth book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was released and J.K. Rowling included a passage about the correct pronunciation. It looks like J.K. Rowling has a bit of Hermione in her, as the author just confirmed that she added it in to avoid any more confusion for readers.

A tweet from a fan brought up a long-time theory regarding a passage in the fourth book where Viktor Krum kept pronouncing her name as Her-my-own. The heroine corrected him and fans everywhere, by announcing it as Her-my-oh-nee slowly and clearly.

J.K. Rowling responded to the fan’s tweet, confirming that her intentions here were to school readers on how to say her name above anything else.

Yesterday only it was still a rumor, today, both, Evanna and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars confirmed on their official social media accounts and websites that Evanna joins the 27th season of the show. Evanna’s professional dancing partner is Keo Motsepe.

The official promotional images and Instagram images of them posing together as partners have been added to our photo gallery.

Rumors: Evanna Lynch Joins “Dancing With The Stars”

Exciting rumors have been announced, Luna fans! Actress Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) is said to join the cast of “Dancing With the Stars”.

Dancing With the Stars is gearing up for its twenty-seventh season, and while the entire cast has yet to be announced, some details about the ensemble have started to trickle out. One recent piece of information is that Evanna Lynch, our beloved Luna Lovegood, has joined DWTS, as reported by Us Weekly.

A lot more rumors about who is joining the upcoming season are going around. Meanwhile, ABC only revealed on Good Morning America this Tuesday, as per Entertainment Tonight, that Disney star Milo Manheim will be paired up with Dancing With the Stars pro Witney Carson for the upcoming season.

For those who have never watched the show before, here is some information about how the show works.

The competition begins with an all-new cast of celebrities who will be paired up with the show’s pro dancers and brave the dance floor for the very first time. Each week these celebrities will leave their comfort zones and endure hours of grueling rehearsals to master new dance styles and technical choreography to perform a dance, which will be judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts as well as voted upon by viewers. In the end, only one star will rise above the rest to be crowned champion and win the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

So, we are quite certain that Dancing With The Stars asks for a little bit more complex dancing techniques and dance-steps than what Luna had to cope with during Yule Ball. However, Luna would undoubtedly just have a good time and not worry about the judges, or cameras, or what anyone else thinks, for that matter.

Katie Leung About the Rise in Asian Representation in Film and TV

Actress Katie Leung (Cho Chang) hopes the rise in Asian representation in film and TV “isn’t a blip”.

Katie Leung – who portrayed our beloved Cho Chang and now stars in ITV’s Strangers – has applauded the rise in Asian representation in film and TV, but cautioned that true equality is still a way off. There has been a positive reaction the world over to Asian-led movies and series, including the US box-office hit Crazy Rich Asians and Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.

But 31-year-old Leung told Digital Spy and other press that she’s “really yet to play a role that is not down to the colour of [her] skin”.

“I hope the increase in Asian representation in film and TV isn’t a blip,” she said. “I think that America is probably doing slightly better in terms of diversity, but I like to think that we are getting somewhere in terms of representation.”

The actress, who was born in Scotland and is of Hong Kong descent, added: “In the 15 years that I have been acting, I have really yet to play a role that is not down to the colour of my skin, so I can’t say that I have experienced anything like that yet, but I look forward to that day.
