Grand Rapids Symphony was among the first orchestras in the world to present “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” after the series debuted in June 2016.

It since has become a worldwide phenomenon.

While that first Harry Potter Film Concert sold out three performances in DeVos Performance Hall, there are still tickets available for this weekend’s three performances of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” on Sept. 29-30.

Cars fly, trees fight back, and monsters are on the loose in Harry’s second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The concert relives the magic of the young wizard’s second year at school — with the wonder of talking spiders, scolding letters and giant snakes.

Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) was not the only actress of the Harry Potter Saga who attended the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2017), but Jason Isaacs was also among the former Harry Potter cast members who attended the festival to promote his most recent movie The Death of Stalin. Jason may be better known to you as Lucius Malfoy, one of the saga’s “villains” and Draco Malfoy’s father.

“The Death of Stalin” is set to be released on October 20 in the UK this year and also stars Rupert Friend, Steve Buscemi, Simon Russell Beale and Jeffrey Tambor. The Guardian describes its plot shorty as followed:

Faced with the unthinkable demise of Stalin, so long revered as nothing less than a god, these Soviet dignitaries panic, plot and go in and out of denial: a bizarre, dysfunctional hokey cokey of the mind. Everyone is of course initially terrified of saying out loud that he is dead – a quasi-regicidal act, which could, in any case, turn out to be wrong and interpreted as traitorous wishful thinking. But dead he is, and Iannucci shows that it is like the casting, or lifting, of some witch’s spell. All these ageing courtiers and sycophants have suddenly been turned into a bunch of scared and malicious children.

On Wednesday, September 06, Jason made his first TIFF 2017 appearance at the TIFF Soiree with special guest Priyanka Chopra, followed by the official premiere for “The Death of Stalin” on September 08, 2017. Afterwards Jason also attended the “The Breadwinner” and the “Three Christs” premieres. I uploaded some images to the photo gallery already, more to be added as soon as possible.

On Friday, September 15, Helena Bonham Carter – the actress who portrayed Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter movies, attended the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Canada to promote her most recent movie project 55 Steps. The film also stars Hollywood actress Hilary Swank and actor Jeffrey Tambor. A short plot synopsis can be found below:

When patients’ rights lawyer Colette Hughes goes to meet her new client, Eleanor Riese, a patient in the psychiatric unit of a San Francisco hospital, she has no idea that besides taking on an uphill legal battle to improve treatment for mental patients in hospitals, she is meeting a woman who will make it her mission to transform Colette’s workaholic life.

I added 37 LQ/MQ images of Helena to the photo gallery. I hope to find HQ ones soon.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour says it that way – For two nights only, brave witches, wizards and Muggles are invited to discover ‘Hogwarts after Dark’ at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London.

The spooky evening will begin with smoking dry ice cocktails and canapés before stepping onto the red carpet through the doors of the wizarding school into the Great Hall, which will be transformed for Hallowe’en. The enchanted Great Hall ceiling will be decorated with over 100 floating pumpkins, as seen on screen in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, while the long tables will be laden with a Hallowe’en feast of red apples, pumpkins and cauldrons of lollipops.

After taking your seats, you will enjoy a delicious two-course dinner and drinks surrounded by the original props and costumes. All before being greeted with lanterns and invited to follow the spiders into the Forbidden Forest set, where you will be able to enjoy your desserts in the company of magical creatures such as Buckbeak the Hippogriff and Aragog the Acromantula.

Throughout the evening, Death Eaters will be roaming the attraction dressed in the original costumes from the film series allowing you to see up close the intricate details of the embroidered robes and hand-painted masks.

After dinner, you will be invited to explore the Studio Tour after hours, admiring sets such as the Gryffindor common room and the Weasley’s kitchen from The Burrow, before meeting members of the Prop Making Department who will be revealing the filmmaking secrets behind the ceiling full of enchanted pumpkins.

The evening continues with the chance to learn wand combat moves from Wand Choreographer, Paul Harris, in preparation for a live duel with Death Eaters.

A refreshing Butterbeer will be provided in the Backlot Café and you will then have the opportunity to explore a darker Diagon Alley as the lights are dimmed, the music becomes more foreboding and the wizarding shopping street set is patrolled by Death Eaters.
