First off all: on behalf of Harry Potter Web, congratulations to the author who enriched us with one of our favorite book series ever – J.K. Rowling!

The 52-year-old bestselling author and Lumos charity founder was awarded the British prize – Companion of Honor by Prince William for her services to literature and philanthropy, during an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, December 12.

Add that to the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) title Prince Charles gave her in 2001, as well as her French Legion of Honor prize and her Hans Christian Andersen Award.

“To be included in the distinguished and diversely talented company of the other Companions of Honour, especially as a female writer, is a particular privilege,” J.K. said via the Royal Family’s Twitter account.

The prize is limited to 65 people “of distinction,” according to the Associated Press, and has also been bestowed upon scientist Stephen Hawking, artist David Hockney, music icon Paul McCartney and Oscar winner Maggie Smith.

I added 5 LQ images of J.K. during that event to the image archive. Enjoy!

Two of the Harry Potter cast members attended this year’s Save The Children’s Magical Winter Gala to celebrate the 20th anniversary since the publication of the first of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter stories at The Guildhall on November 16, 2017 in London, England. The two we’re speaking of are Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy) and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange).

The both of them even brought along their wands to wave them for pictures, mingling with other famous faces such as the incredibly charming Luke Evans. 10 MQ images taken during that event have been uploaded to the photo gallery.

Today, November 07, 2017 has been a big and special day for two of our lovely Harry Potter actresses. Julie Walters (Molly Weasley) and Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy) have been honored by the Queen herself for their service to drama.

Julie Walters has been made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, receiving the honor for services to drama after spending four decades in the business. Julie broke out in the 1983 movie Educating Rita alongside Sir Michael Caine, a performance for which she was nominated for an Oscar. After receiving the investiture from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on November 7, Julie posed alongside along with Helen McCrory, who was awarded an OBE.

We’re so very happy for both ladies and do really think that they deserve their awards! Congratulations to both of them!

This weekend, two members of the Harry Potter cast attended the 61st BFI London Film Festival Awards. The two even joined the award show on stage together. They may be known as one of the villain couples in the Harry Potter franchise – Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy) and Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy).

I added a couple of MQ pictures to the image archive. They images that show both of them together on stage can be found in either the Helen BFI album and the Jason album. Enjoy!

An iconic film set in turn of the century Florence is in the public eye this week thanks to the anniversary celebrations for “A Room With a View.”

The low-budget film adaption of the E.M. Forster novel, “A Room With a View,” was a sleeper, which became an Academy-award winning smash hit, one that has entered into universal consciousness. A line from the book may sum up the premise: “One doesn’t come to Italy for niceness, one comes for life.” The clash between convention and naturalism is personified by a young girl (Helena Bonham Carter) of the Edwardian period looking beyond the restrictions of her daily life while on a visit to Florence with her spinster aunt (Maggie Smith).

The lovely French actress and model who portrayed J.K. Rowling’s character Fleur Delacour in the movie adaptions – Clémence Poésy – was among many celebrities who attended Paris Fashion Week for spring/summer 2018. I added some MQ images of her attending the Miu Miu front row and during the Chanel photocall, both taken on October 03rd. More images during the arrivals etc. will be added as soon as possible.
